Warrington Quarterly Meeting includes 8 contiguous meetings in south-central Pa and North Central Maryland. Meetings include Frederick and Pipe Creek in Maryland, Shepherdstown in WV, and Gettysburg, Menallen, York, Warrington, and Carlilse in PA. Meetings usually include worship with the host meeting followed by a potluck. There is usually a short business meeting and sometimes a speaker.
Extended meeting for worship – standard Sunday worship is usually for one hour. That’s what people coming to meeting expect. Traditionally though worship was longer. Extended meetings for worship are ones where people gather knowing that the meeting is going to last an extended period of time. Somewhere between an hour and a half and 2 hours, something clicks and we find ourselves becoming more tender and sensitive.
